About me

my name is tommy aashildrød and i was born in 1974. i come from a town called sandefjord, but i now live in a town called asker, not far from oslo.

i used to work as a child protector educator for almost 30 years, but in the fall 2022 i quit my job for good and started at a art school called DTK- Det tverrfaglige kunstinstituttet i Bærum.

i have always had a passion for art in many forms but i never followed that trail fully out until now.

i play in a band called: happily ever after

with dystopia and post apocalypse as a backdrop my main theme is mankinds fragmented relationship to a ever changing nature.

photography, sculpture, drawing and short experimemtal animation films are often the media i use to create the theme into different shapes and forms. some of the forms are natural and others are more abstract to create an diversity.

i always try to work tactile so i can mould my idees, thoughts and feelings directly from my fingers and hands and into my work.

i often use red and black as a mean of action to underline the dystopian backdrop.
